Violence -is it an answer to anything at all?

The Mumbai Attack- loss of hundreds of innocent lives, women, children, old, foriegners. All when a group of 12-15 crazed men came into the city with an idea to just kill and destroy. What actually did they acheive to do? Blood shed at the cost of their own lives? What purpose does the whole act serve? More hatred or violent reactions in peoples mind.

In the aftermath of this ghastly massacre speaking to many people I kind of was amazed at how people thought. Anam and I had lengthy discussions, belonging to two countries that have so much animosity against each other, both of us were kind of amazed at how people think. Specially the so called educated, literate people with fancy degrees. While Anam heard that India deserves it kind of a reaction, I heard
stuff like each one with a kind of tolerance and liking or even love for anything Islamic or Pakistani should be weeded out.

While I mourn the death of so many innocent human beings and am in shock of the horrific results of a crazed and messed up human mind I stand by the thought that it is time for everybody all over the world, Indians, Pakistanis, Americans, Isrealis etc to rise over boundaries of countries and religions to get together to work towards Peace and harmony. The terrorists practice the religion of hatred and bloodshed. They follow their own rules and not those set by any country or religion, so why then as educated people do we spout contempt and so much of hatred against one religion or the other.

Aren’t each one of us humanbeings, with red color blood , each one us when hurt physically ,bleed, we all die the same way . So why are we breeding hatred and contempt .Then how different are we from these violent people who believe that bloodshed talks…arent we of the same mindset if we talk of retaliation? Isnt it time we look at peace and rise over stupid boundaries that in the first place causes such hatred. Look at humanity as one. In a day and age where so many die without food, so many have no access for medical facilities, instead of wasting time on building contempt and hatred, cant we look at how to help, better the less fortunate, forgetting which country, religion we belong to.Forgetting if we are white , black, yellow or brown skinned. Cant we rise above stereotypes and branding the whole country or whole community as whatever and look at each one as a good person or bad person? Why dont our so called fancy degrees and qualifications educate us instead of merely making us literate.

As far as I see it no religion preaches taking another life. We may pray different but all of us have a God we believe in.We may lead different lifestyles but all of us leave this earth with a last breath. We are all made of skin, bones , hair ,muscles. organs, blood. So why then so much of hatred? Why then this contempt?Instead we have to join hands together and show these fanatical minded bloodthirsty, disturbed human minds that we wont give into the fear or terror they want us to be scared of.We instead have to focus on making this place a safer place for our coming generations. We have to rise above every boundary to look at the humane side of ourselves , change mindsets and work collectively against terrorism and violence.

This is yet again one of those sad incidents that happen that swipe people off their feet. Obviously having nothing to do with religion, the people carrying aise attacks have only one thing in common with anyone with a sick mind, and that is everything evil.

If we start saying that every christian is a terrorist because of the few guys in US who killed their classmates one after the other, or they are all racists because they used to beat and abuse the blacks in the US for centuries.. would that be right?

Just like if i say what thousands of Hindus did in Gujarat few years back killing and burning alive muslims on the roads makes every hindu a terrorist would that be right? If that makes every hindu on the planet a terrorist just because the wierdos who carried this attack were evil minded themselves then obviously anyone with a mind like this should be put on a donkey, with a black face and beaten the shit out of..

There is a difference between stupidity and blindness, and some people in the media are both. Raking over the whole nation just because they have nothing better to do.

Thx for bringing this up.. :)

It really saddens me that there are people in this world, in today’s time and age who have so much hatred filled in them. There is so much stupidity and sheer blindness in them that they don’t see past anything. Hatred has never been an answer to anything. Again, we’ve come back to square one with so much hatred filled in us that we aren’t willing to look past that hatred and try and spread love and smiles.

How many more lives will we lose before we realize that violence is not the answer? Why does the religion matter or the country you belong to? Where has our humanity gone to? Do we have different blood colors? Do we have different way of living our everyday lives? Since when is killing each other going to make everything perfect?

Why are few people hell bent on spreading only hatred? Why can’t we grow up? We fought together to get freedom from the British to only end up fighting with each other. Why? Maybe it would’ve been better that we would’ve stayed under the British rule…maybe we would’ve still stood by each other and loved each other.

Few idiots killing some innocent people does not make the whole relgion or country bad or terrorists. If that was the case then how many Muslims have been killed in India? How many Muslims have been killed in Iraq, Afghanistan? How many Hindus and Muslims been killed in Kashmir? How many Christians been killed in US? Does that make all of us terrorists? Does that mean the whole world is a terrorist? We need to look past all this and act like mature adults and spread love. Hatred can be won over by love but love can never be won over by war, killings and blood. When are we going to understand this? What is it going to take for all of us to understand the concept of love and to get rid of hatred?

I think the time has come to sit together, to unite as one and fight this terrorism instead of playing the blame game or go into a war. We don’t need anymore wars. Haven’t we learned enough? What have we been doing for past 60 years? When are we going to sit together and enjoy a meal together without the topic of religion or countries coming up in hatred? Can we all grow up? I feel like I’m banging my head on a wall trying to make these idiots, who claim to be older and more mature than me to understand that violence, blood and hatred has never been an answer. I feel like I have more of what it takes to sit together with someone of different religion and working things out. Why can’t we put aside our differences, look past the borders to protect our people, to protect our loved ones who are fighting to protect our lives, so that we can sleep in peace. Don’t they deserve a break? Don’t they deserve some happiness and love? Don’t they deserve to be told that they don’t have to stay up all night to fight the so-called enemy?

I feel its ENOUGH! GROW UP and ACT LIKE MATRUE ADULTS AND SOLVE THIS DAMN ISSUE! STOP THIS HATRED…PLEASE!

Just wanna say taht what happen in india is really sad & shame for me coz they said this people came from pak…

We cant add all paki people in the same basket named “terrorist”…just coz in generally some terrorists people get trained in pakistan.

When oriental people doing something bad its called terrorism acts but when occidental people kills others its become “a mistake”….the 2 facts have the same point innocent people died paid the price of a stupid war…

Why people hate others???..we all are humans same face to God wont stay long time in this world but our present acts will drive us on the hell or paradise.

A friend sent me a joke about terrorist havent mood to laugh on but just wanna share it

This is response to Wakas Mir post on Gujarat.Let me add here that India has the largest population of Muslims larger than the total population of Pakistan. No body has branded Muslims as terrorist as he is saying “If that makes every hindu on the planet a terrorist” But yes the establishment of Pakistan which is made up of Pakistanis is terror harbinger and is in place due to the support and vote of every Pakistan. Each election in Pakistan has Azadi of Kashmir on every party as agenda.Mind you Jihad and such acts in Pakistan are entirely financed by expats who send back money to such organization and even fund hospitals treating injured terrorists.
For sake of argument i can accept Gujarat as act of Hindu terrorism.Do you want me to enumerate the entire list of Jihad terrorism pre and post 9/11 all over the world be it Russia,Britain ,France,Spain,Indonesia.

This whole war thing is such a sad part of our lives..Dont know when it will end and will it ever end.
Hmmm. My dad lost his real good friend in this and its been a very bad weekend for us here. But thank God my family condemns war and not any religion. I feel the same. I read the fb blogs yesterday and I was feeling so silly at some people who did not even understand what they are condemning at. WE condemn wars and not religion is what people need to understand first.

Where does religion come in this? Its a common sense that people need to use. Dont we all feel the pain for wars? We are. Didnt we feel the same when WTC attacks happened. we did. But is it correct to say that because attacks happened because of a certain terrorist group, u brand name the whole country?

And if we say Pakistan govt is not acting to wats been said, where is Indian Govt doing its job? U see a home minister resigning off his duty when he should been in the forefront now. Saying I am better off and I feel less burdened now. Is this the answer to the problems thats been happeneing?

Yesterday when I read the fb blog people talking crap about religion, i felt silly. Those people were taking and getting all the attention coz for me personally, when I see a stale vegetable in my refrigetor, i dont keep it. I throw it beccause i think, if i keep it then it would spoil my other veggies as well. SImilar is the thing we need to do with this extremists.. When they have no clue of wat they are talking and their interest is onli to spoil a peaceful community, then just ignore them. Initial few advices given are okhay but if thats not sinking in their heads, then do you think we need to give that time and energy on those who are onli spreading hatred? ..If we even give them that kind of attention, its like we tlaking to terrorists. I personally dont think the need to pay attention. You can educate a person who has the patience to understand. You can educate people who has already made up his views and doesnt wanna change about it.

Hatred against a certain religion is not solution to it. If a country sees a issue in their own country, then try and take help and work on it. Keep ur personal egos aside
and try to eradicate terrorism. Dont play the blame game when things have gone so wrong. Rather take the initiative and see how things can be stopped further with the right politics.

WE all are humans first. Get this thing straight in ur head first. And if you dont understand this, then u dont even understand religion.

Lets not think of hatred and die with it.. Think of all the brave people who do wonders on this earth rather than thinkin of personal benefits..Its nt the time to go with divide n rule policy. Its time to stick together and work on one gaol. That is to eradicate terrorism.

very well writen saanju di, I believe we all have to look beyond religion, race, nationality in order to make this earth a better place. It is very sad that because of some crazy people others have to pay. we all are humans, we all have feeling and we all belong to this place called earth. Why are we fighting with each day passing? when i was a kid i always thought that people will be more educated to and they will not blame the nation, or religion for whatever happens. But i think i thought wrong, because each day the hate is just increasing. The people are learning to hate more, i thought education is suppose to end the wrong doing but i think the unedcuated world was a better place to live in. Because when i go to villiages of any country they dont care where you are from or what religion you belong to, they only look at you as human, and all of educated people look at one another based on religion, race, nationality etc….
i think we are just wasting our small life… we all should just stop hating and we all should spread love amoung one and other because at the end we all have to die…
Didi i must say you have done a great job explaining your point of view
Duas for everyone and hoping for a better earth…
    take care all

I firmly believe that terrorism knows no country or religion.i also go one step ahead and say that terrorists do not believe in any god-they might think they do but i think they are being delusional,i mean how can anybody who has killing in mind claim to have any faith at all in something/someone as pure as god.by saying they believe in god they according to me are committing blasphelmy.i would think its only their thirst for money, kill and instant gratification of power and control that drives these crazed poor examples of human beings.
i think we owe it to the human race to rise above insignificant trivialities of race, colour, religion and borders and work towards achieveing a peaceful coexistence with one another.i know this dream of mine is utopian but if each one of us have utopian dreams maybe utopia will become a reality.
IAM AN INDIAN,IAM AN HINDU-BUT I RESPECT ALL NATIONALITIES AND RELIGIONS-I CONDEMN EVERYTHING EVIL AND LETS NOT FOOL OURSELVES “GOOD” AND “BAD” IS THE ONLY REALITY AT THE END OF IT ALL.

  • Wakas Mir Says:

Dear Mr. Akshat :) Always nice to read your hateful messages. I feel that you are going way over the line by misusing the already tense situation between Pakistan and India. If all involved in the talks become like you, I am sure war is just a few days away. Read my reply above, and don’t put words in my mouth.

Last note to you is, that on a blog one does NOT refer to others.. one sticks to the author’s post. This isn’t a discussion forum. If you have something to say directly, i advice you use the route everyone else does. I don’t appreciate wasting my time on people who don’t see others as human beings.

Mr.Akshat..As i read ur comment, i felt hilarious as i wondered that u must be really a uncivilised guy who didnt know wat to write but wanted to blame somebody :) .. But as i knew u were a doctor or lol are a doctor, it made me lauff more coz i thought n i am sure you treat people based on nationalities..
It makes me feel sorry for you coz ur boundaries and thoughts are way too limited. Ermm..may be less or no exposure to the society eh???
I am born and half of my life brought up in Mumbai, my half of the family are in Mumbai. I do live out of India now but i can guarantee you, i have been in that city more than you have. My husband who was stuck durin this horrific incident ish a total mumbaikar. Born n completely brought up and still there in Mumbai. To add it all, one of my dads good friend died in this terror attack and thank God none of us keep this kind of attitude like you do.
Dont you feel everybody is horrified and angered with this attack? we all are. But on whom do you think?
If every person on this earth talk only abt religion then shame on we being even humans.
People always forget that God didnt create us with any race, caste, creed or religion. Its we humans who created this so called religion and to top it all we ourselves dont understand khud ka religion completely and keep the guts to comment on others religion.
If eradicatin countries is the only solution then imagine there mite be a day when terrorists will b all over our country and then some other powerful nation thinks of bombing our country. What would u say then? There will be millions of innocent ppl too but they have to sacrifice too correct?
You dont know the state of common people in Pakistan. Been there? No. Comment karna aasan hota hai.. Mehsus karna nai..
Well, as Wakas Bhaijaan said, ish truly nt worth wasting time and energy over ppl who really act like extremists but then again being a proud humanbeing, i felt i had to correct ur corrupt thoughts :) I pray God bless u with a good brain which ish missing right now :)

  • Anam Says:

@akshat: I don’t beleive in wasting my time on an inhuman guy like you but I will just say one thing, if you hate Muslims and Pakistani’s so much, then why do you keep visiting this blog? Why do you keep referring to Wakas Mir and all Pakistanis everywhere? You are giving us all a lot of importance by just mentioning us, so thanks for that buddy!

Oh and incase you didn’t know or your brain isn’t functioning (which im sure you dont have in the first place), this site is run by a Muslim and a Pakistani as well. So do us a huge favor, get yourself a life, and stop visting this blog.

it is the very good lesson for all of us which we learns from 26th Dec in Mumbai Attack by terrorist. No body that what is the

relation between terrorist and young people who have gave their hands to terrorism. That young people are susceptible to

developing a fascination for violence, is something we need to really grapple with. How does this international network appeal to

educated muslims to on role as suicide bombers and member of terror squads. Some time’ s money do all this but it is quite

impossible for young educated muslims that they are ready to take anybody’ s life.

  • Saanj Says:

@blackjack rules  : Well Appreciate your views on this but I as a born Hindu following Humanism would definitely say it is unfair to say muslims are the only community practising violence because we have seen christian missionaries being targetted for violence by Hindus, why we have even seen subsects of Hindus fighting among themselves and torching villages down.
So instead of categorising one community I would say, youth is susceptible to giving in to violence and rage. When in mobs they are highly excitable and go to any extent to vent out frustrations they have .

So let us brand all those resorting to violence as Terrorists following a new religion terrorism

  • Wakas Mir Says:

saanj said it all. As for lesson learnt Blackjack I think even calling it a lesson is very rude. Lots of people lost their lives, and remember there were Muslims who died to and people from other nations not just Hindus. As to putting everyone under the same umbrella what kind of education is that?
