At peace.

After a lot of time with myself, meditating and thinking and reading over some stuff, I feel a sudden sense of peace or as they say it ‘sukoon’ in my heart. Am at peace with myself. I am learning to accept, to think before I say something, to stay silent, be patient and wait for the right moment to speak my mind. I am happy with who I am, the way I have learnt from my faults and the way am learning more each day. Learning more about myself, about people, emotions, everything. Is this the ‘peace of mind’ I was all the time seeking????

Peace of mind. Isn’t this what we all are looking for along with happiness? While happiness is a result of doing what you like and relating to others honestly, peace of mind is knowing you did what you had to do and forgiving yourself when you were not as strong as you wanted to be.

How can one get peace of mind…? By being at peace with yourself would be a step towards it. One should not have to work for it but should have it in you before you do the good work. If one has clean and pure intentions in ones heart its very easy to develop peace of mind I would think. If you know you are a person who is sincere and forgiving, even before the act of forgiving you are at peace.

If you are determined in your intentions to set right a situation, you can have peace of mind in that situation. If you always have belief in yourself to do good and do the right thing, you will have peace of mind. If you know that you will take all steps to correct all the wrongs you do, even if you have slipped up, peace of mind reaches out to you.

True peace of mind comes from having faith n belief in your goodness and knowing that you will do the right thing and with all your power. I tell myself this often …I do good, I intend good, I am a good human. I guess that is what gives me peace of mind. What would peace of mind mean to you?
